Dr. Gianfranco Scasciafratti, I0ZY, is the genius designer of all the SPE Expert Linear amplifiers. Introducing the first high power solid state very sophisticated for its time, the 1KFA, in 2006. This amplifier covers all ham bands from 160m to 6m with 1kW and contains all of its power supplies, the automatic antenna tuner and a 4X1 antenna switch. All of SPE amplifiers have two input and four outputs. They also can operate SO2R, single operator, two transceivers, with INSTANT switching between the transceivers being used, as well as switching antennas for each input used. The antenna tuner is semi-automatic, the operator has only to "start the process". The ALC circuit is digital, surpassing all past designs of ALC, and is patented. Dr. Scasciafratti then proceeded to build the software based 2KFA, a 2kW solid state amplifier, which is still being produced and sold today. This fully solid state high power amplifier contained all power supplies, the automatic antenna tuner as well as a 6X1 antenna switch. Dr. Scasciafratti and his staff then produced the very small, 22 lb 1.3KFA, software based and even more sophisticated 1.3kW amplifier. All SPE amplifiers cover all ham bands from 160 meters to 6 meters. The 1.3KFA, also covered the 4 meter band for the EU. This wonder SPE amplifier, not only broke weight records, it broke the record for being small in size containing the full power supplies, antenna tuner and 4X1 antenna switch. It was introduced, by Dr. Scasciafratti, in May 2015 at Dayton HamVention. He then designed and produced the 1.5KFA, 1.5kW solid state amplifier. It was introduced, by Dr. Scasciafratti, at Dayton in May of 2017. This amplifier is very sophisticated. The "Taurus" amplifier is an improved version of the 1.5KFA. It is being introduced to the USA at Dayton/Xenia, in May 2024. All of these amplifiers have a unique patented automatic level control digital circuit (ALC) that surpasses all ALC circuits of the past. This circuit continues to be improved upon today. Dr. Scasciafratti, is the genius behind the design, production and marketing of the SPE Expert amplifiers. Most of his staff has been with SPE for several decades. The SPE factory is in Rome, Italy.
