The SPE Expert 1.0K-FA Taurus is the next generation of SPE's legendary solid-state linear amplifiers — engineered for the serious HF operator who demands reliability from the shack to the DXpedition. A single high-dissipation LDMOS device delivers a solid 1.0 kW across all bands and all modes, with no warm-up time and no compromise.Key Highlights

Protection & Monitoring
Temperature, voltage, current, reflected power, output power, SWR, and Vrf are continuously monitored via both hardware (HW) and software (SW) circuits — ensuring maximum speed and accuracy. The 3rd-order distortion (IMD, two-tone test) measures –32 to –38 dB (typ. –35 dB). Spurious emissions are fully FCC, CE, and RCM compliant.
Display & Connectivity
A large LCD display provides real-time readout of: Watts PEP out, Vpa, Ipa, temperature, SWR (before and after ATU), input/CAT settings, band, and the alarms log. Both RF inputs maintain 50 Ω match (SWR better than 1.2:1) at all times. Drive power is automatically managed via ALC in OPERATE; exciter resets to full power in STANDBY.
